Closed for Business

After months of being too busy to work on design projects due to a thee-book contract, I've decided to devote myself to writing full-time and close my design business.

Thank you to everyone who has shown interest in or been a client of Gilded Heart Design.

Here's the email I've sent out to clients:

You're receiving this email because you are or were a client of Gilded Heart Design. Thank you so much for giving me that opportunity!

In early 2015, a new opportunity presented itself to me and I grasped it with both hands. As you may be aware, my long-term goal was to become a published author. In March, I was offered a three-book contract with my dream publisher, Avon, for their digital-first Avon Impulse imprint. By the end of November, I will have completed three historical romances for them in nine months. I hope to start on a new series with them in 2016. Thus, I have cut back severely on any graphic or cover design work.

After much soul searching, I have decided to close my design business. If you'd like to keep up with my writing adventures or connect with me as an author, my website is, and you can find social media links, my newsletter sign-up, and buy links to my books there.

I will be leaving my Gilded Heart Design website up a bit longer, as I may continue to offer pre-made covers there.

Need a recommendation to other designers? Ask me. I do know a few. :) I'd be happy to make recommendations. Just reply to this email. Likewise, if you have concerns about ongoing series covers and we haven't made arrangements one on one, please email and we'll get it sorted out. I'm happy to provide font info for your future designer.

Thank you again for giving me the opportunity to design for you! I am certainly happy to support you as an author and will continue to wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Taking a Break from Design Work

Due to the happiest of news—a three book contract—I am taking a two month break from scheduling any new design projects. If you have a project scheduled in March or April, all is well and still on track, but I am currently not accepting any new design work requests or any new clients.

Thank you for your understanding!
